SinCera comes from the Latin “sine” (without) and “ceras” (wax), often cited as the root of the word “sincere.”
The phrase refers to work done without wax—no fillers, no cover-ups. In classical art, wax was sometimes used to hide flaws. A piece marked sine cera was whole and honest.
